An immersive journey into the natural world using light, sound, and organic media. Echoes & Embers is an improvised, live performance/installation which uses analog and digital projections together with a multichannel spatial speaker system. The work focuses on the emotive human response to the landscape, and the subtle nuances of nature. The piece invites us to consider our place within our environment, allowing comfortable space for contemplation, relaxation and deep listening. Birds will be seen flying around you, the sea lapping at the floor, and beams of light floating around the space.
We have commissioned the artists to collect field recordings (sonic and visual) from Oxford/shire during a residency period for this installation. This is a family-friendly show.
“In a world full of noise and chaos it feels important to create a space to encourage a mindful perspective of the world and our surroundings.” Ezra Gray
Ezra Gray’s work focuses on sonic ecologies and the natural world. He is interested in creating work which allows us to listen deeply and expand our audible perception.
Giles W Bennett is a lens-based artist working with moving images and projection to create installation pieces as well as experimenting with non-chemical analogue photography.
