An unusual music and poetry show with riveting live music, twisted beats, absurd texts, fierce poetry and hypnotic visuals. Created by the Iranian duo: live electronic musician and composer Pouya Ehsaei and performer and writer of unruly texts Tara Fatehi. Part of No. 80 Festival, in collaboration with YWMP.
Somewhere between concert, performance, poetry night, dance, and visuals, From the Lips to the Moon conjures the unexpected, smashes rhythms and words, and promises a trip of a lifetime.
“Wildly sonic and poetic imaginary” SONGLINES
Each show features a fresh line up of musicians and poets, curated by the lead artists. With over 120 guest artists to date, Tara and Pouya have brought together exciting line ups including Yazz Ahmed, Alice Oswald, Nisha Ramayya, Sam Warner, Sascha Akhter, Kadialy Kouyate, Sarathi Korwar, and many more.
With its base in London and shows at Cafe OTO, V&A, Southbank Centre, Vinyl Factory, Grand Junction, Reference Point and more, the show has travelled internationally to Berlin, Mexico City, Cologne, Tijuana, Nice, and beyond.
